Thinking in Haiku

I have a rather lengthy pastime of serious insomnia and have made games for myself that make me think about random stuff, which eventually helps me fall asleep.  I used to do a game where I would try to make the numbers on one side of my alarm clock ":" match the other side.  For example- 3:26 is 3 equals 6 divided by 2.  I know this is ridiculous and I fully admit I am ridiculous.  It kind of makes me think I may have Rain Man side to me.   I no longer have an alarm clock like such and, therefore, this practice has gone to pasture.  I often times pull out the Sudoku Expert puzzles and do a few of these.  Unfortunately, last night my iPhone was dead and I could not play my Torture Sudoku.

I had to pull out the big guns. One of my other self made therapies for sleep is "Thinking in Haiku."  It is brilliant in that it does not require any equipment other than a brain.  All you need to do is think of a poem that has 5 syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the last line.  Voila, you have Haiku.  I always think of brilliant ones when I am trying to sleep and will myself to remember them in the morning to write down.  It would ruin my therapy to turn on the light whilst trying to sleep, you see.  Here are some examples from last nights therapy session:

Wrinkles-

Wrinkly eyelids suck,
Eyeliner makes a hot mess,
Do not like aging.

Play-land Storm-

McDonalds play-land,
Banshees shriek like storm sirens,
Order lightening.

Worm Brain- Inspired by Worms.

Worms will eat my brain,
What a dreadful waste of time,
I'll live forever.

Please feel free to try this therapy for free.  If you find it useful I would love to hear your Hair Brained Haiku in a comment.  Better yet, leave one as a comment anyway.  I *heart* Haiku.
