E.T. Phone Home!!

I have a very spirited child that hasn't ever sat through a movie and can barely sit still during a 10 minute cartoon program.  It is a red letter day.  She actually sat, riveted, through the entire movie E.T.  Granted she did the usual, asking 8000 questions, but she watched it.  I was so tickled over it.  She was so excited and amazed.

I remember seeing E.T. in the theater and the magical feeling that came over everyone.  It was one of those movies that just captures you and draws you in.  With all of today's technology and theatrics, I am glad to see that after almost 30 years this movie still works magic.  Flynn was actually pretty good through it too, aside from several water and potty breaks.

I actually haven't seen it for about 20 years.  It was almost comical to see them running a code on E.T.  As if he he were human or something.  "There is no femoral pulse."  Um. . .you think?  What makes you think and alien has a femoral artery?  LMBO.  As I kid I was all stressed out over that scene.  As an adult I think I was more stressed out.  Even on an alien, a code makes me get the heebie jeebies. Tha is unless I am in the middle of the action.  Then I am calm as can be until it is over, then jelly legs set in.

I want one.  OK, not really.
Sophie was so amazed that Elliot got to have a "hossibol" in his house.  She asked me "if we get an E.T. will we get a hossibol in our house?"  I told her we probably would.  I half expect her to go out looking for an E.T. tomorrow.  I think her grandest dream is to have a hossibol in her house.  Since she was about two years old her favorite book is The Atlas of Anatomy and she has wanted to be a doctor.  She will watch Grey's Anatomy for hours on end.  It is like Sophie crack.

I am going to bed tonight praying that there are no E.T.s to be found.  HAHA.
