Alchemy

I am so ridiculously, wickedly excited today.  My chemicals are here!!!!!!  Well aside from nitric acid which needs hasmat precautions.  I am holding off on that right now until I can afford proper equipment and space away from itty bitty prying hands.  LET THE ALCHEMY BEGIN!!  Muah haha haha.  The really bad news is all of metal is still in the process of getting in to my crazy hands.  Hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry.  I am like a little child waiting so very impatiently, holding off a hissy fit.  So, so, so  excited that I want to go find some copper or brass piping, buttons off of clothes, door knobs (I am sure the landlord would love that) zippers, or ANYTHING to experiment on.

This is leading me to wonder if my dear, old , Chem. Comm. instructor is still alive?  He challenged me in saying I could pass his class with a C- and to promise to never ever take chemistry because I wasn't very good at it.  I do believe he told that to other people as well but I like to pretend it is my little, baby secret which I have just blurted out on the internet for anybody silly enough to read this.  Good old Mr. Davis, his paint splattered lab jacket and his hearse with license plate "BARIUM" always bring fond memories.  What a character. I just adored him and reminisce about how wonderful he was sometimes when I think of what devil I am for taking chemistry classes.  I just love free spirited people who just love being themselves.

Little does he know I really was a budding chemist and almost majored in chemistry just a few years later.  Good thing I crossed my fingers behind my back as I made my little half-hearted declaration to him.  Now my favorite hobbies consist of dangerous chemicals and their delightfully creative uses.  I love making lotions, and potions and soap. I know I am going to love coming up with wacky brews that transform ordinary into extraordinary.  I may not strike gold but my intention is to strike every other imaginable color.  My version of alchemy.
